My jack Russel cross, male, 13 months old, has one ear up and one ear down. Both ears were up for about a week when he was about four months old, but since then only one stands up. Is this unusual?

My dog has the same ears, one up one down, and I find it very cute, I have 2 jrt's one with dropped flap ears and the other with one sticky up and one flapped over, so it is a common thing.
