Shaving Your Jack Russell

I was wondering if there is anyway to maybe shave my Macy to keep her from shedding so much.


If anyone has tried it please let me know.

As a dog groomer, i would never shave my jack russell, i have 2 and 1 is wire haired but i brush her every day. and give her regular baths to get rid of all the hair

Wow! I think I'm gonna try that. My JRT has a thic short haired coat and sheds tremendously! Is there a particular cut to ask for? I've neer thought about shaving a short haired dog, but if it works Im all for it!

When I adopted my Jack Russell "Cocoa" her previous owner told me to have her shaved twice a year to help with the shedding. I was nervous about this but decided to get it done anyway. Hey if it worked for the previous owner and Cocoa was used to it, why not? It did help immensely!! Ironically the lady at the dog grooming place questioned me because she couldn't understand why I wanted to shave a short haired dog. But it was definately worth it and now I can let the dog back on the couch.
