If i shave my jack russell often will he still shed a lot of fur ?

I had my female JRT clipped and she does not shed much at all now. She is a short hair and I had them trip the strip down the back that was the longest. I told them to make her hair length the same all over as her shortest hair. It is great to not have hair everywhere.
