Opinions Needed...

I have a almost 7 year old Jack Russell Terrier. Last week while running in the yard, she came up limp on one of her hind legs. We took her to see 2 vets and of course they both said the same thing...torn ACL. One of them recommended surgery and the other recommended waiting and said that he would probably opt for not doing the surgery, as she is a small dog and could probably heal on her own. I need advice. What have other people in similar situations done and how have the outcomes been? She is still not putting any pressure on it after 8 days?!?
