My hubby and I brought Milo home a few days ago and he still has not barked is that normal?

I had the same concern and I was told by a trainer that the dog will bark when they feel the need to. My JRT didn't bark for the first time until she was three months old! She heard some hammering at a nearby construction site and it set her off. She sill hates the sound of hammers. I can't get her to stop barking now.
