Dear Margaret,

I'm not a veterinarian, but I can offer some general advice that might help you in this situation. It's concerning that your Jack Russell is still experiencing sickness despite the treatments she has received. If your current veterinarian is unable to determine the cause, you might consider seeking a second opinion from another veterinarian or a specialist.

There could be various reasons for your dog's persistent sickness, including:

Food allergies or intolerances: An allergy or intolerance to certain ingredients in her food could be causing gastrointestinal issues. You might consider discussing with a vet about trying a hypoallergenic or limited ingredient diet to see if it helps.

Gastrointestinal issues: Conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, gastritis, or ulcers could lead to chronic vomiting. Further diagnostic tests, such as blood work, X-rays, or ultrasound, may be needed to investigate these possibilities.

Infections or parasites: Bacterial, viral, or parasitic infections could cause vomiting in dogs. It may be necessary to run further tests to rule out or confirm these potential causes.

Foreign body ingestion: Dogs can sometimes swallow objects that cause blockages or irritation in their gastrointestinal tract. An X-ray or ultrasound might be needed to determine if this is the case for your dog.

Other underlying medical issues: Issues such as kidney or liver disease, pancreatitis, or endocrine disorders could lead to vomiting. More diagnostic tests might be necessary to explore these possibilities.

It's essential to continue working with a veterinarian to identify the cause of your dog's sickness and determine the appropriate course of action. Keep monitoring your dog's symptoms, and don't hesitate to seek further professional advice if her condition does not improve or worsens.

All the best to you and your Jack.
