how often are jack russells in season ?

we've only had our gorgeous girl chica for a couple of months she was in season when we got her and is now in season again, i have searched for an answer on the internet but have only come across the question, alot! the answer most frequently given is twice a year but from what ive been reading chica isn't the only jrt whose seasons are more frequent. im just wondering if this is another jrt trait like the constant shedding thing !!
