How many times does a one year old jack need to eat?

Tucker is about a year old and ever since we got him he has been a grazer. I have noticed lately that i have had to refill his bowl (which is 1/3 of a cup scoop) 2 to 3 times more than before. My husband thinks that he is board so he is eating what ever i put out but i didn't think this was breed that over ate.
