How long does a heat cycle last for the dog's first heat?

When will the dog come into heat for the 2nd time?

My bitch went into heat last moth...It has now only been a month and a half, and it appears that she is already coming into heat again. Is this possible, is this normal? She will be a year old on October 3rd, 2008.
