Our Jack Russell (also named Penny) rides with us as we drive an 18-wheeler. She recently has lost the hair on the top and end of her tail. It looks like it has rubbed off. She stays pretty nervous and has to watch the road constantly since we had a near-accident, and our windshield blew out about 4 years ago. Any ideas on what is causing this?

Has it always been like this? by: Anonymous
It's probably scar tissue from when his tail was docked. If it wasn't docked, then I have no idea. If I move the fur away from the tip of my Penny's tail, I can see a small round bare spot, but it's very small. Maybe there was some trauma when his tail was docked and it didn't heal normally.
