I am a Terrier gal and have had Wire Fox Terriers for over 20 years. Izzy Belle was 12 and getting a little lethargic in her old age (if you can believe that) and I saw a notice in our local classified for two free Wires from a girl who couldn’t care for them anymore. So my husband and I adopted Zeus and Zorro, two brothers who were 5. They perked up Izzy, who fell in love with them right away. They all enjoyed a playful life together for two years. At 14, Izzy became very ill from pancreatitis and died. The brothers were devastated. I guess we were all a little depressed. After much thought I went to our local shelter looking for a new playmate. I found the most darling little pudgy 1 year old Jack Russell causing a big commotion in his “cell”. He looked like a little meatloaf with legs and his name was Magnus. His owners had brought him in because they said he was too high maintenance. To this day I don’t know why they thought that he was high maintenance! I fell in love with him and brought him home that day. The brothers bonded with him in about fifteen minutes. Magnus is the light of my life and keeps everyone in our household energized. He loves to run, jump and play and to snuggle on the couch with us. He likes to dress up and pose for pictures. He has very good manners and the three together make a wonderful pack. He even loves our three cats! We have put him on a little diet and with daily walks he’s lost 4 lbs!
