Dog In Heat

I think my Jack Russell is in heat. Her behavior is good, but she is very swollen in her vagina area and it seems like it is hurting her. Is this normal?

Definitely in heat. No it's not hurting her but if you do not have a dog that is show/breeding quality, done all the genetic testing, etc. then as soon as she is finished with this heat, spay her. Watch out for roaming males in your area and don't let her out alone without your supervision.

Is she hot, cold, wet, dry, hungry, thirsty, cranky, mad, happy, sad and crying over Wonder Bread commercials? Must be in heat.
