Are Jack Russell Terriers known to have arthritis?

My Jack is constantly shaking, while on his legs. He is relatively old now- 12 years, however he is in perfect health, aside from the tremors in his legs. Could this possibly be arthritis? Is this breed known to have arthritis?

My Jack Bogie goes thru periods of severe pain where I can't even pick him up . Seems to be getting worse as he ages (now 12 yo). Cold weather makes it worse. Vet prescribed 75 mg of baby aspirin for the short term. Seems to help a little.

My Jack Russell Female is 14 yo and until recently, the last few months or so had been a very active and spritey Jack! Over time she started to refuse the stairs and jumping on the sofa! Then after a walk I noticed her limping and struggling with her legs and hips! I took her to the RSPCA Putney & they diagnosed her with arthritis & said it's common for an old dog, she was prescribed a safe does of metacam & for the first time in months she walked down the stairs today! So YES Jacks can get arthritis & it's extremely painful for them! My dog had it in her hips & knees & I thought she was just getting old but there is help available! don't let your old dog suffer, they can have many good years ahead with the right treatment! if Financially it's difficult PLEASE check out the RSPCA & PDSA...EVEN USE A FRIENDS NAME IF THEY WILL HELP! YOUR DOG IS COUNTING ON YOU!!! GOOD LUCK :)

My Jack is 10 and has tremors in one back leg Her brother Jake has had tremors for a few years. My Penny has had her back legs give out a few times over the past 2 months. She does not have any pain but sometimes will whine at the bottom of the stairs to have me carry her up. One thing though......she has had an itchy stinky ear for a month or more. I have been treating it with ears drops from the naturopath. They worked but had to repeat a few times. Just wondering if there is a connection between ear viruses and joint viruses??

My Jack Russell will be 12 in Feb 2012. He has had tremors in one leg since he was a pup. I've discussed with several vets and all have concluded it's nothing more than high energy. However, he does have arthritis in his right hip.
